Creating Time…
Is it possible?
We all feel like we could use more time in our day.
How many times have you said to yourself: “if I only had more time, I would….”
I know there are so many obligations, so many tasks, so many things that come up that we don’t even anticipate. And, in addition to all the things, sometimes, at the end of the day, we’re just too tired to do anything else.
What I propose is this - begin with noticing. Begin small, with one day.
For five minutes, at the end of today (or tomorrow), notice how you spent your time, from the moment you woke, until the end of the day. You can make a note in your phone, or however you like. Try to record it somehow, rather than just thinking about it. Be as specific as you can.
It might look like:
I woke up at 7, checked my phone, checked email, woke the kids at 730, jumped in the shower, fed the kids, got ready, dropped the kids off at 8, had meetings from 830-11, etc.
In looking at your list, ask yourself two questions: what do I have to do? what am I choosing to do?
No judgment around any of it. You’re just building your muscle to notice.
Try this. And we’ll add on another layer.
More soon,
Nicolle
