Now, more than ever, we need to learn how to lead ourselves through stress and into purpose.
If you’re beginning each day with a sense of angst, ending it so exhausted that all you can do is collapse, feeling consistently frustrated with the things you never get to - I get it.
Working as a federal program leader, a director and then a tech consultant in the social impact space, I subsisted in a state of fight-or-flight most of the time.
It was important to me to make an impact.
As such, I was staking my impact (and really, my value) to my job success, and subsequently, was conforming myself into the modes of working of my job environments to get it done at any cost. Constant urgency and reactivity, all day, every day.
The day I had my first panic attack, I knew this was not sustainable.
I began my own journey of personal health and discovery. I began studying (and became certified in) yin yoga, a practice grounded in stillness and in creating an embodied state of ease from which to operate in the every day. I began to take less, but more intentional action in my every day, and to see the positive impact these actions were making in my outer world. As my sense of personal agency grew, so did my clarity around the impact I could make, paving the way toward making that impact (which always felt elusive) a reality.
That is why I created this platform. Because our impact comes from us, not from our job title. To be able to practice that in the day-to-day, we need to be able to build our sense of agency. And to do that, we need calm.
Enter Yin Leadership. Using yin and other mind/body techniques as its basis, paired with leadership and mindset coaching, this work helps you to create pause, awareness and agency - to consistently manage your stress and to cut a path toward the bigger vision that has always felt elusive.
Yin Leadership helps you to create space for YOUR impact, by creating a new come from, based in ease.
Yin Leadership will help you to:
Reduce tension in your body
Create daily habits that help you to identify and release that tension sooner
Have more practical tools to manage real-time scenarios
Increase your mental and emotional bandwidth to articulate and realize your larger goals and impact
This isn’t just about learning how to survive. It is about stepping in to YOU.
That is how you create YOUR impact, in your work and life.
Please note:
I am certified in yin yoga (RYT-200) and in equity-centered coaching and leadership (Institute for Equity-Centered Coaching). Please note that I am not a medical doctor, and that any mind/body practice we explore here should be undertaken with caution and with the advice of your health care team.
